Our First Amatuer Bathroom Remodel... DONE!!!

After many delays and drama with scheduling friends to do work, funding issues and lack of experience in remodeling anything, we have a new bathroom!

I have absolutely no experience with picking out tile and sinks, but I think we did a fairly good job! Ever since we moved into our house we have had the smaller original bathroom torn up and standing idle. Just a shut door with creepy things inside. We have scraped together enough money to do the vital essentials to the whole house, but we stalled with the bathroom, waiting for funds to become available. (Or earned, more accurately.)

This is a shot of the OLD bathroom, which I made Jonathan rip out before we moved in. It had been carpeted over tile and we won't even mention the condition of the OLD toilet. The gem of a vanity, circa 1971, had to be removed as well. I didn't mind so much the yellow old fashioned shower tile, however, it had to go as well for some tiles we starting to cave in around the facet and handle knobs.
The window had to be replaced as well. Lots of mildew and rotten tiles in the floor, under the carpet. Now really, who the fricky frack carpets a bathroom!?!???! So dumb....

Even the bathtub had to go. It had a lot of rusting around the drain base and was the texture of sandblasted enamel. I love this shot! You can see the dark, gross, creepy corners growing all sorts of science experiments! Delish!
And.... TaDAHHH! New tub, white tile, Coke bottle green glass tile on the floor and A NEW TOILET!! There just really is no other feeling like a new toilet. Enough said...
We were gifted (by Jonathan's old boss) super cool fixtures for the towels and TP. Brushed nickel. This also shows you the wood wall. We sanded and sealed it. I love the natural contrasted with all the modern stuff.
And this is (sort of) a shot of the vanity and of course the NEW TOILET!! These toilets were also gifted to us and are one piece bodies with a soft closing seat. SO COOL!!

Dog butt was unintentional. Wyatt had very little to do with the remodel other than keeping the guys company while they worked. Our friend Marcus who did the tile work (amongst a million other things) said that Wyatt would watch him with such intent that he felt as if he was trying to learn how to do what he was doing. LOL!! Wyatt is a crack up!

So, in all honesty I suppose I shouldn't call it an amateur job as we did have professionals working on it. They just happen to be ski instructors as well. Its a lot of work, but worth it in the end. Sorry for the awkward pics. It is a SUPER small space. Not so easy to photograph.

Now, planning the kitchen remodel. Here we go again!
