More Views from Switzerland.... and LA

Lila getting her "dig on."
Wyatt looks vaguely interested...
It is nice to be home. Aspen is rapidly warming and the snow melting. The dogs are happy to be back in their familiar surroundings, but I think they miss the room they had at my sister's. (See pictures above..) They have very little room to wrestle indoors here which I think they became accustomed to in LA. Hopefully, soon we can find a place to live where they can have their own yard. Obviously, Lila likes dirt! I am glad that Jess put her to work doing some landscaping in the back yard.
Front door of Ben's Chalet
I wanted to share some photos from Switzerland that I was unable to upload while there.
View of the valley from Verbier. You can see the switch back roads that take you from the green valley town of Le Chable to Verbier, which is directly above. These are not roads for the queasy at heart.
This is the living room view from Ben's chalet. Every night, when the skies were clear, the mist would rise slowly up from the valley floor. Something to do with the warmer weather in the lower altitude below? This also shows the other chalets surrounding us in the "hood." Beautiful natural wood buildings capped with this impressive snowfall that graced the Verbier area this season.
This is a shot of the village of Verbier from the gondola ride up to the ski fields. Very steep and very small. There are only like 3 main streets and one round-a-bout. Lots of pubs and bars though. And, as usual, Ben found all the best food in the area. Strangely enough, there is an Italian place called Al Capone which had the best lasagna. An unfortunate name for a great restaurant.
This was across from the Verbier ski area where there were perfect tracts in the newly fallen overnight snow. I am not sure which of the 4 Vallees which encompass Mt Fort area this is, but it was quite imppressive. Great for first tracks, not so great for avalanche danger. I am no where near this level of skiing, but I am working on it.
So, many thanks to Ben for including me on this wonderful trip, full of yet more European surprises and discoveries. I am determined to improve my skiing so I can enjoy the incredibly tiring spring slush snow and adventure into more of the off-piste areas which look like so much more fun than what I was skiing. It is just too good to be able to ski when it is warm outside!
